Alexander Watson Associates (AWA) looks at trends in labels in their global market review and outlook 2014. Market segments covered include pressure-sensitive labels (38% of market), glue-applied labels (38%), sleeves (17%) and in-mold labels (5%). Issues addressed are macro trends, cost issues (internationalisation and cost-reduction push by users), the environment (e.g. the recycling issues raised) and a range of industry challenges.
World demand is analysed based on the regions North America (22%), Europe (28%), South America (10%), Asia Pacific (35%) and Africa and Middle East (5%). Also, the growth rate for these markets is identified, ranging from 15% for Europe to 6% for Asia-Pacific.
