In a new report Technavio’s market research analysts predict the global packaging market to grow at a CAGR of almost 6% during the period 2017-2021. This high growth rate is due to the global change in demographics, such as growing number of small households and increasing aging population. The changes in the demographics have changed consumer buying behavior, taste and preference, thereby leading to an increase in the demand for packaged products. The global rigid plastic packaging market is expected to witness the highest growth rate. The board packaging and the flexible packaging market are also expected to witness a considerable growth rate (Persbericht Technavio, 21 november 2017).
