In a new report Technavio's analysts forecast the global advanced packaging market to grow at a CAGR of 8% between 2015 and 2019. The main factor propelling the demand is its increased adoption to enhance the shelf life of food and beverages. APAC is expected to be the fastest-growing region.
The report details the segmentation of the market based on active technology, intelligent technology, and modified atmosphere (MAP). The MAP packaging dominates the market with more than 51%. The market is witnessing introduction of new food and beverage packaging materials with improved properties such as mechanical, barrier, and antimicrobial properties (Persbericht Technavio, 18 december 2015).
