VS: Californisch voorstel SB 1381voor het etiketteren van genetisch gemanipuleerd voedsel komt niet door senaat
The Californian Right to Know Genetically Engineered Food Act that would have required Californian firms to label genetically engineered foods has not passed the senate, as it attracted 19 votes in favour and 16 votes opposed. This bill would have required that any food, except as provided, offered for retail sale in the state would have been considered misbranded if it was entirely or partially genetically engineered, as defined, and that fact had not been disclosed in a specified manner.
Labelling requirements would have been required for genetically engineered raw agricultural commodities and packaged foods containing products of genetic engineering (Website GovTrack).
