Verplichte talen voor etiketten en veiligheidsinformatiebladen
As a rule, labels and safety data sheets (SDS) must be written in the official language(s) of the Member State(s) where a substance or mixture is placed on the market. To facilitate this task, ECHA has published a table of languages to be used on labels and in SDS, as required in each EEA country.
The overview contains the language requirements for the 28 member states of the European Union, and Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. For Belgium it is necessary to check with the local authorities, because requirements can vary depending on region. In Switzerland the labelling must be written in at least two official languages (ECHA e-News, 12 november 2014).
