USA: Regelgeving voorgesteld in Maryland voor statiegeld op drankverpakkingen
A bill that proposes a five-cent deposit on beverage containers has been introduced in Maryland. The bill SB 394 would require a five-cent deposit be placed on glass, metal, aluminum, steel or plastic beverage containers holding between 6 and 101.5 fluid ounces, beginning in 2015.
On January 1, 2016, all covered beverage containers would need to indicate the five-cent deposit value and display the word “Maryland” or the abbreviation “MD.” Monthly deposits submitted by distributors would be placed in a Container Recycling Refund Program Fund. If enacted, SB 394 would take effect at the beginning of October 2014 (State Recycling Laws Update, 27 januari 2014).
