CLP-pictogram: Lange termijn gezondheidsgevaarlijk

Consumers purchasing a product that contains a hazardous chemical may have noticed a new look and feel of the labels since December 2010. The change isn't just related to the way the labels look – it also introduces three new pictograms, new signal words and new statements. The 'radiant man' is one of the new pictograms warning about a serious health hazard. This pictogram can be found for example, on turpentine, petrol or lamp oils.
The serious health hazard pictogram reflects serious longer term health hazards such as carcinogenicity and respiratory sensitisation. If not used properly, the substance may provoke the damage described on the label (ECHA Newsletter, december 2014).
