Meer dan 65 miljard PET-flessen gerecycled in Europa in 2013

Around 65 billion PET bottles were recycled in Europe in 2013. The overall collection of PET bottles at 1.64Mt represents a 7% increase on last year. The Europe region refers to the European Union 28 Member States plus Norway and Switzerland.
Petcore Chairman Roberto Bertaggia said that there is still a huge disparity in collection rates amongst the Member States, and all stakeholders need to work together to align the collection processes to deliver the increased recycling objectives. Casper van den Dungen, board member of Petcore, stressed the need of improved and standardised collection and sorting processes (Persbericht Petcore Europe, 1 september 2014).
