EU wetgeving voor export en import van gevaarlijke stoffen van kracht geworden

New rules concerning the export and import of designated very hazardous chemicals were implemented in the EU on 1 March 2014. The revised Prior Informed Consent Regulation (PIC, Regulation (EU) 649/2012) regulates the trade of very hazardous chemicals between the EU and third countries, and implements the Rotterdam Convention in the EU. It imposes consent-based restrictions on the import and export of very hazardous chemicals. In particular, the export of very hazardous chemicals cannot take place until the receiving country has been informed and, in some cases, an explicit consent will be required from the importing country (International Hazardous Substances Newsletter, 28 april 2014).
