Eerste nanomateriaal staat op ECHA’s nieuwste CoRAP lijst
On 30 October 2014 the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) published a draft updated Community Rolling Action Plan (CoRAP) list of substances for evaluation in 2015-2017. The list, a compilation of submissions by Member State environmental authorities, contains chemicals that “could pose a risk to human health or the environment.”
Sixty-five new substances were added to this expansion. A few particularly noteworthy additions may be the three brominated flame retardants, and Multi-Wall Carbon Nanotubes. Germany submitted multi-wall carbon nanotubes for inclusion in the CoRAP list, labelling the nanomaterial a suspected carcinogen (Recycling Laws International, 31 oktober 2014).
