Denemarken: nationale herwinningstrategie gepubliceerd
The Danish Environmental Minister has unveiled a national strategy to reduce waste generation and recycle more materials while sending less to incinerators.
The new strategy is outlined in report which states that the recycling of a range of ordinary materials like paper, cardboard, plastic, glass and food from households has practically been stalled for 10 years. Denmark recycles 42% of its municipal waste, which falls short of the 50% ‘dry waste’ recycling set by the European Union for 2020. Most Danish household waste is incinerated (Recycling Laws International, 11 October 2013).
