Canada: CCME publiceert voortgangsrapport over Canadees EPR actieplan
The Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment (CCME) has released a progress report on the Action Plan for Extended Producer Responsibility (CAP-EPR) that CCME approved in 2009.
For packaging and printed paper (PPP), there are various forms of producer requirements in 5 out of 10 provinces. Of these, 4 are shared responsibility programs and one is a full EPR program (i.e., 100% producer responsibility). The Atlantic provinces are currently collaborating on the development of a common framework for the implementation of a PPP EPR approach across the region and Alberta is considering designating PPP to be managed under an EPR recycling program (State Recycling Laws Update, 8 augustus 2014).
