5 warehouse/DC trends die verpakkingen gaan beïnvloeden

Today’s warehousing industry is changing significantly compared to 10 years ago. These shifts have the potential to impact the entire supply chain, including the packaging operations of product manufacturers. Packaging Digest has published an article discussing 5 warehouse/DC trends that will influence packaging.
The trends discussed are an increase of the number of stock-keeping units (SKUs), an increase of the number of warehouses and distribution centers, more investments in automation, more bar coded items and the costs of pick-and-fill activities. Years ago, mainly full pallets were handled. Now and in the coming years, more mixed pallets and individual cases will be prepared for shipping.
